The great German Castle in the Alps, Neuschwanstein Castle

Unfortunately we did not go inside the castle due to poor planning and long lines, but is on our list of re-dos.

You can actually walk the wall around the whole town.

We actually found a parking spot in Rothenburg a small miracle.

http://atriptakesus.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/IMG_7848.jpg

I think we had to drive that street before finding that parking spot.

Always the most difficult thing, Parking.

Driving into Rothenburg, the streets are very narrow.

The hotel manager had to get in our car and show Dave how to get to their back parking lot, pretty funny.

Heidelberg, Germany

Was a bad morning, we looked for over an hour for a parking place and when we thought we had found one the local said no it was only good for 2 hours and she had no suggestions for where to find parking, "it's a real problem here"
http://atriptakesus.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/IMG_3507.jpg

Yes, it's a very large wine barrel behind Dave

Despite the morning parking problems, Heidelberg was a great place, it has one of the oldest Universities and we took a guided tour of the castle which was well worth the extra money.

The Loreley

The Loreley rock is a 194 meter high slate cliff at the narrowest point of the Rhine, the tale is a beautiful woman sat at the top of the rock combing her blond hair and men would crash their boats into the rock.

Beethoven started playing at a young age and quickly became the primary bread winner of the household.

After

It was the hottest day of summer we must have walked 10 miles that day (not kidding). The subway felt like a human sauna and we climbed the stairs to the top of the cathedral, Sam was a little grumpy on our walk back to the campsite.

The longest walk up to the top, over 500 steps to the top.
